Toccata on "Carol of the Bells"

It started out as a fanfare, but the music wanted to go somewhere else.  What seems to start as a very recognizable Christmas tune quickly changes to something dramatic, maybe even heroic.  But the tune returns over and over again, syncopated and layered on top of itself.
